Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus System | Fare, Route, & Timings

The Islamabad-Rawalpindi Metro was started to connect the twin cities & offer a standard convenience to the travelers. It was discussed back in 2010, but the actual work was started in January 2014. In which Prime Minister of Pakistan “Nawaz Sharif” & CM Punjab “Shahbaz Sharif” signed the agreement of a 50:50 share between the Federal & Provincial Government.

One of the reasons CM Punjab was successfully influenced to grab this project is because he had already completed a spectacular job in the Lahore project.

However, this project was completed in June 2015, cost 46 billion PKR & launched to the general public. At the start, it faced many construction-related issues which the opponents criticized. But, overall, it added value to the locals riding experience.

Line:1 It includes the route from Saddar to Pak Secretariat, covering 24 stations along its way.
